PC errors are incredibly frustrating and never more so than when you call customer service only to find out that they appear to be as clueless as you when it comes to what the actual problem is. Thankfully however, there are a range of options available online to help you solve the problem regardless of your level of expertise when it comes to computing. I will now outline the four resources that I have found to be the most helpful.

Fix PC Errors by Using the Manufacturers Website

If you think that the error is being caused by a newly installed program or piece of hardware, your first port of call should always be the manufacturer’s website. Almost all reputable manufacturers include a trouble shooting section listing all known errors that can be caused by their products. If the error that you are experiencing is listed in that section, you are in luck as full instructions for resolving the problem are likely to be listed.

Fix PC Errors Using Tech Help Forums

There are many forums available online where people will be more than happy to help you solve the problem. Simply search for the most relevant section and ask for help. When doing so, you should try to be as specific as possible about the problem that you are experiencing. A lot of people assume that certain elements of the PC error at hand are obvious when in fact they are far from it. When asking questions include absolutely everything that you do know about the problem including but not limited to:

  • You current operating system.
  • Your computer specifications.
  • An exact copy of any error messages that you are receiving.
  • Any recent changes that you have made to your system.

Find People Who Have Had the Same PC Errors

When it comes to PC errors that you don’t quite understand, Google can be a lot of help. Regardless of what error you are currently experiencing, chances are that somebody else has already asked about it online and subsequently found the answer. Try searching these terms:

  • The Exact Error Message that you are getting.
  • The program that you believe to be causing the problem.
  • The name of the process that is using the most resources when you get the error (this can be found under processes within the Windows Task Manager).

Use Support.com to Fix PC Errors

Finally if all else fails, you can pay somebody to fix your PC error for you. There are a range of options available. For a price, you can find people who will remotely access your computer, determine what the problem is and subsequently resolve it for you. And while this is the only option on the list that actually costs money, it is also the one option that guarantees a speedy, headache free resolution to your current PC woes.
